Amanda's Guide to Disney Dining
There are five different types of Disney dining experiences you can have in the Walt Disney World theme parks. Below is an outline of what the differences are in dining establishments available to you and your family at each Disney World theme park.
Character Dining
Disney's Character Dining is usually a sit down restaurant where reservations are strongly encouraged. You can make reservations by calling 407- WDW- DINE (939-3463). Here you and your family have the opportunity to dine with your favorite characters. Character appearances vary based on the theme of the restaurant. For example at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Disney's Epcot the theme is "Princess Dining" so all the characters will be Princesses. Quick Service
Disney's Quick Service are no reservations required, walk right up for service eating establishments. The Quick Service food varies depending on the park and the area of the park, but typically you can find things like turkey legs, coffee, sweet treats, popcorn and more. Casual Dining
Are sit down restaurants where reservations may be required. You can make reservations by calling 407- WDW- DINE (939-3463). Special and Unique Dining
Special and Unique Dining restaurants will offer flavors that are more authentic to the area they represent. For example in Disney's Epcot there is the Biergarten Restaurant which offers a buffet style selection of German favorites and German dinner entertainment. Signature Dining
Signature Dining are typically more adult atmospheres with dress codes, which does allow tank tops, swim wear, hats, cutoffs, torn clothing.
