Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club

When I think of Florida two images come to mind… Disney World and beaches. So of course you can imagine that on my top five Disney Hotels list there has to be at least one hotel that has a fantastic beach. The Yacht and Beach Club not only gives their guests a wonderfully large beach that looks out on the Boardwalk but it also offers its guests the feeling of being in a in a cozy beach front home. Way back in time (last month) I talked about my first introduction to the Yacht and Beach Club during Mouse Fest. Of course I had wonderful things to say about the hotels and today I will highlight my reasons why both the Yacht and Beach Club are Disney places that I could definitely call home.

1.The view! Walk out onto the beaches and look around off in the distance you will see Spaceship Earth, the Boardwalk and the Swan and Dolphin. Really it cannot get much better than that.

2.The décor! It is absolutely wonderful. Disney really makes you feel like you are in a beach town which I find very Florida.

3.Just a walk away from Epcot! And a walk away from my favorite Disney restaurant (Kimonos). Plus it is really neat to be able to arrive at a park by boat which you can do from the Yacht and Beach Club (Hollywood Studios and Epcot!).

4.The food! The last time we were at the Yacht Club we went to this wonderfully quiet restaurant called The Captain Grille. Like so much of Disney we felt like we were in another world. If you head over there I highly recommend trying the Gouda clam chowder and then walk on over to Beaches and Cream for some of the best desert at Disney.

5.The lobbies and other public areas. As I mentioned earlier the beach is such a neat feature that many Disney World hotels offer. The Yacht and Beach Club have a lovely (really large beach) and there are cozy little nooks in the lobby and other public areas of the hotel that invite you to curl up with a book or a great conversationalist. If you can I highly recommend visiting the Yacht and Beach Club during the Holiday season, they have some of the prettiest Christmas decorations of all the Disney Hotels.
