David Cassidy at Epcot
As many of my readers know I am a huge fan of the concert series that Epcot puts on. This year was our first experience with the International Food and Wine Festival concert series Eat to the Beat. We were in disbelief at some of the bands who played Disney. For example, I am still in shock that the great David Cassidy played Epcot! He was amazing. Out of all the concerts that Norwood and I have seen this year be both agree that the David Cassidy show was the best. Norwood was not so much a fan of the music like I am but the show was entertaining and David really made the audience feel like he was there to sing to them not at them. Occasionally there are performers who simply perform their songs and do not involve the audience. We saw a few of those performers during both the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series and the Eat to the Beat Concert series. They were fantastic musicians but did not seem as “into” their performance as others. Anyway back to the great David Cassidy (can you tell that I love David Cassidy yet? ). He played three days during the Festival and we caught one of his shows. He packed America Gardens. For the first time I saw people outside the ropes standing what they could of the show. You could really tell how many people were there though when at the end of the show David sang “I think I love you.” When the song started the fans jumped to their feet and ran to the edge of the stage, including myself (take a look at the photo below… can you find me? Click the photo to see the note that shows you where I am)…

But of course you know when I post here that the show was awesome and of course Norwood and I had a fantastic time, it was at Disney World after all. So I have to tell you a little story now that made the night even more unbelievable. As you all know I take tons of photos of the concerts and share them not only with you guys but occasionally I email them to Disney or to the artists themselves. Most of the time I do not get a reply back from the artist; Disney however always thanks me for the photos (aren’t they great). So I went to the Official David Cassidy Site and emailed my favorite photo of the evening…

Well for the first time ever I received an email back the same day that I sent the photo! Two emails actually one from the webmaster of the site thanking me for the photo and the other from Sue Cassidy, David’s wife thanking me for the photo! It was very cool!
Anyway back to the International Food and Wine Festival (sorry I am still star struck). It ended on Sunday and wow was it packed! The last band of the concert series was Los Lobos who I will tell you more about tomorrow…
