A Taste of Boma

Boma is a buffet style restaurant that offers an American take on African Flavors. It is located in the Animal Kingdom Lodge and it is strongly suggested that you make reservations for both breakfast and dinner in advance. You can make reservations by calling 407-WDW-DINE. A Taste of Boma is a Private Dining option that you have at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Norwood and I made reservations for Boma in the morning of the day that we stood at AKL and were lucky to get an 8:45pm reservation. Hungry at 6pm we decided to call and have the vegetarian Taste of Boma and the regular Taste of Boma delivered to our room. Here is what we received just a half hour later…

The Perks:
No crowds, just you and the people you are staying with which is really nice after a long day at the parks. The amount of food! When it was delivered to our room I could not believe the large amount of food and the great selection! Also it was a really good price. We paid for our two tastes and coffee $70 with tip.
The Downfalls:
The coffee! We ordered two cappuccinos thinking that such a nice restaurant would have a barista make cappuccinos. Boy were we wrong! It is machine coffee that tastes more like sweet milk with just a tiny bit of coffee flavor. I do not recommend the coffee. Also there is an 18% gratuity already included in the bill. We were unaware of it and tipped the woman who brought our food twice (once with the cash tip upon delivery and once with charge included). Your taste of the Boma buffet is limited to their selection. It is more food than one person could possibly eat so you will not go hungry but if you want to sample everything (including deserts) you might want to make a reservation at Boma.
Do I recommend it?
Yes! Just not the coffee, really it was very bad!

Amanda ~ I'm so glad you & your hubby are avid coffee lovers! Now I'll know exactly where NOT to go for my coffee when I'm there! Thanks a million! :)
Hi Jackie- that is one thing you can always depend on in my reviews, what the coffee is like! We are such coffee nuts that it is one of the first things we explore at resturants so I am more than happy to oblige with my opinion on the coffee.
Have a Disney Day!
Amanda
